People see the Avaaz Organization as a way to help people in need. If people are in need of human rights, protection from the effects of climate change, freedom from poverty, corruption or conflict, they can turn to Avaaz and find people fighting hard for them. It is a civic organization promoting fairness and humane treatment of their fellow man. They even fight for animal rights.

Avaaz was founded in America in 2007. Today, Avaaz is a worldwide organization that uses peaceful methods to encourage change. They get supporters to petition their government, they demonstrate and they support the independent press, who generally prints the truth about small unpopular conflicts and more information click here.

Avaaz has come to understand that today there are so many things forcing divides between people, that it’s hard to put a passionate group together to demand changes, if you can’t unite those with similar concerns. That’s why Avaaz uses the most effective means possible to spread the word that an atrocity is being committed and to gather reinforcements and contact thier.

Avaaz’s global campaigns are managed by teams in over 30 countries. The membership is kept abreast of Avaaz campaigns through email, online public petitions and videos. Members are often asked to use a productive tool, email-your-leader. Avaaz also uses advertisements and consults with legal professionals to determine the best way to complete a campaign. Avaaz’s members get involved through “sit-ins, rallies, phone-ins and harmless stunts and Avaaz’s lacrosse camp.

Before they launch a campaign, the regional leader solicits suggestions from their members. Naturally, they also take into account legal and public safety concerns. After deciding to consider a campaign, they poll at least 10,000 Avaaz members. If the response is good, they proceed with the campaign and learn more about Avaaz.

Avaaz is solely funded by the generosity of individuals. It is not supported by an elite few or large self-serving foundations. Their goal is a safer, cleaner more peaceful world where everybody has freedom, food and clean water and they believe we can achieve it through activism and http://www.ngo-monitor.org/ngos/avaaz/.
