Ben Roethlisberger And The Roethlisberger Family Foundation

Ben Roethlisberger is very well known for his professional career with the NFL spending his entire time as the quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. A less-known fact about the record-breaking quarterback born in Lima, OH on March 2, 1982, is he and his family have started a charity foundation to improve family foundations starting with a strong belief in God and family at the heart of it. The Roethlisberger Family Foundation is also involved in community strengthening through funding to help police and fire rescue services across the country.

Ben Roethlisberger was born in Lima but went to high school in Finlay, OH. He became the football team captain in addition to the team captain of the basketball and baseball teams. He was given the chance to start showing the world what his talents were in his senior school year when he became the starting quarterback.

He achieved the Toledo Blade Player of the Year the same season he achieved the league and district Player of the Year in football. He went on to attend Miami University of Ohio. He was a three-year starter quarterback for the school. He broke many of the school’s previous records, only to then break his previous records. He set almost all the school’s passing records in just 38 games. He had a huge 10,829 passing yards, 84 touchdowns, and 854 completed passes in those 38 games.

As a first-round draft pick and the 11th overall pick, he signed to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2004. Ben Roethlisberger did not disappoint the team when he was the pinnacle in 74 wins out of 100 games, earning the 2004 NFL Rookie of the Year, and being named to the PFWA Rookie team. He holds the Steeler’s most single-game passing yard records, completions, attempts, touchdown passes, and highest completion percentage. He led the Steelers to nine postseason victories, AFC Championships four times, seven AFC North Championships, and two Super Bowl wins. See this page for additional information.
