Randy Douthit

Randy DouthitRandy Douthit is an American Executive Producer with credits on “Judge Judy” and “Divorce Court,” among others. A Middle Tennessee State University graduate, Randy Douthit has been with the show for many years. He was born on August 14, 1955, in Hickman County, Tennessee, and resides in Atlanta, Georgia. In his free time, he enjoys writing short stories and creating artwork that has yet to be completed. “I’m a workaholic,” he says. “I have a regular job, but I like my hours.” Randy Douthit is the creator of the famous Judge Judy forum on AOL’s board devoted to the show.

From his youth, Randy Douthit had a keen interest in law and crime-related things. He wanted to be a criminal lawyer but had to give up his dreams due to his lack of adequate education. He completed his undergraduate studies in Criminal Justice and later studied law at West Virginia University. He worked for the government as a public defender for four years before joining the entertainment industry. He moved on to creating the popular Judge Judy forum on AOL’s board devoted to the show but was fired after he created an account using someone else’s name without their knowledge or consent.

He has won one Daytime Emmy nomination (Outstanding Writing in a Talk Show) and two NAACP Image Award nominations for his work with Brandon Douthit on Judge Judy. He has also been awarded the PACE Award for Excellence in Publishing and an award from the California Western Bar Association for Outstanding Service to the Profession.

Randy DouthitHe has created some of AOL’s most popular online forums, particularly Judge Judy. He has also created his website, www.courtjudy.com, which millions of people visit every month. He has written five novels, published a book on crime and terrorism titled “Elite Justice,” and a book on sexual harassment called “Sleaze.”

Success is achieved through hard work and persistence. Douthit has succeeded in his career but has always remained down-to-earth and friendly toward people. He advocates a ‘child-rearing philosophy’ that demands children be made aware of the social rules and regulations.
