Randy Douthit

Randy Douthit Randy Douthit is a veteran executive producer and director. He is of American nationality and has an impressive academic background after graduating with a Master of Science in Psychology from Portland state university. Douthit has worked on several projects in the film industry, the most common being Judy Justice, now known as Judge Judy on IMDB TV hit.

Randy Douthit has vast experience since he started working at a local TV and later at CNN. He has also directed and produced Larry King Live and several presidential speeches. He has also been part of a team responsible for the NBC popular show Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Randy Douthit has been vocal about his views on Production after the Pandemic. He admitted that it is an added cost, and because extra safety and testing procedures had to be followed, it increased the time needed for Production. He also mentioned that it was a change of set from pre-covid due to mask-wearing. The Production also needed to be done remotely, so Judge Judy had to preside over cases online. This means they had to utilize technology, something that non-televised court proceedings also had to move to videoconferencing platforms.

However, he mentions that COVID did not necessarily slow down Production, and they could produce 120 episodes of Judy Justice in 3 months, which they consider a lot—according to Randy, producing all those episodes that are required hard work. It took a lot of cooperation and sacrifice

Randy Douthit Randy has worked on Judge Judy for about 25 years. He states that his experience has been a long ride, but he has found a home in Judge Judy’s show. Additionally, they now have a more rigorous tape schedule.

He says working with Judge Judy can be testy and stern, but He believes she is warm-hearted.

Randy loves his job, and his advice to young people is ‘just do it.’ He adds that they do it well when they enjoy a job.
