Bernard Acoca

Bernard Acoca is the CEO of Zaxby’s Corporation. He was born in 1971 and studied finance at the University of Georgia. Before being elected CEO, Bernard Acoca had been with Zaxby’s for ten years and took over as CFO in 2012.

He is a board member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and is active on various organization boards. Trinity Episcopal Church, Longwood, Florida, also awarded him the Order of Laity Award.

Early Life

Bernard Acoca is a native of Orlando, Florida. He attended Edward Waters College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree. After completing his schooling, Acoca enrolled at the University of Georgia and finished his master was in business administration in 1997. In the same year, he also earned an MBA from Barry University.

Early Career

After earning his degrees, Acoca worked as a certified public accountant for one year before moving to Atlanta, where he joined Pritchett’s Restaurant Associates Inc, which later became Zaxby’s. In 2000, the Zaxby’s CEO formed Acoma Partners LLC and managed the company for five years until he was appointed CEO in 2006. He was CFO of Zaxby from 2012 to 2016, and then in 2017, Bernard was promoted to CEO.

Personal Life

Acoca lives in Braselton, Georgia, with his wife, Danelle Acoca, and their two sons. Although the couple is not Jehovah’s Witnesses, they were baptized as Jehovah’s Witnesses before marriage during college. They have since left the religion.

Awards

Zaxby’s CEO, Bernard Acoca, has been awarded the Order of Laity by Trinity Episcopal Church in Longwood, Florida. He also received the Business Leader Award from Zaxby’s in 2006 for his work as CFO and Director. In 2015, Acoca was awarded the Georgia Heart Association’s Champion of Excellence Award, presented to those in Georgia who set an example and thrive on the state’s accomplishments with their community and are making a significant contribution to the population’s health.
