Kelcy Warren
Kelcy Warren is a very famous and wealthy American businessman, politician, and philanthropist. He has an estimated net worth of $4.9 billion as of April 2017. Kelcy attended Stony Brook University in New York state from 1975-1978 before joining GE Aircraft Engines as a sales representative in 1978.
He later became the CEO of GE Energy Financial Services for whom he created the syndicated loan business responsible for $2bn+ in earnings every year (source). He is also the Chairman of two companies: Kinder Morgan and Marathon Petroleum Corporation, who are both major companies that fall under Warren’s leadership to create his wealth.
Kelcy’s personal net worth has been amassed by not only the above-mentioned companies, but also his influential position as the Chairman and CEO of Energy Transfer Partners (ETP), a company responsible for building the Dakota Access Pipeline and Energy Transfer Equity, who are both privately held companies. As of April 2017, they have a combined market cap of $31 billion (source).
The Dakota Access Pipeline is currently in construction, which will cost upwards of $3.7 billion (as reported by Warren on January 6th). Kelcy Warren also had PowerForward Partners build the Sabal Trail Pipeline in North Florida that will connect natural gas from Alabama through Georgia so it can be exported to Europe from Florida ports. For the Sabal Trail Pipeline, Warren has generated $1.6 billion of revenue (source).
Kelcy Warren is also responsible for recently passing legislation in Georgia that allows him to build the Energy East Pipeline, which is a $2.5 billion project that will run across Georgia and Alabama (source).
In the political field, Kelcy was appointed by the Trump Administration as an advisor on infrastructure priorities (source). This appointment landed him a seat on Trump’s American Manufacturing Council. Kelcy Warren is also noted for his philanthropic efforts; he is a member of the National Petroleum Council and a former board member for his alma mater Stony Brook University.
